Locust Bean Gum is a natural compound extracted from the seeds of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua), a tree grown mainly in the Mediterranean regions. Our Locust Bean Gum comes from the Italian territory.
The seeds of the Locust Bean Gum, called carats, were used to weigh gold and precious gems in ancient times.
It is a common substitute for cocoa and available in different viscosities.<\/p>\n

It is an oil-soluble food additive, a complex mixture of glycerol with resin acids form wood rosin (pine tree resin). The rosin is obtained by the solvent extraction of aged pine stumps followed by solvent refining process.<\/p>\n
